Something said "Take the damn test" even though I've got a couple meds in me that are making me sleepy. The results were interesting, so here goes.

+4: Needs a change in her circumstances or in her relationship which will permit a relief from stress. Seeking a solution which will open up new and better possibilities and allow hopes to be fulfilled.

+4+3: Her need to feel more causative and to have a wider sphere of influence makes her restless and she is driven by her desires and hopes. May try to spread her activities over too wide a field.

X6: Uneasy and insecure in the existing situation. Needs greater security and a more affectionate environment, or a situation imposing less physical strain.

X6X1: Avoids excessive effort and needs roots, security and peaceful companionship. May be physically unwell, in need of gentle handling and considerate treatment.

=7: Feels that things stand in her way, that circumstances are forcing her to compromise and forgo some pleasures for the time being.

=7=5: Conditions are such that she will not let herself become intimately involved without making mental reservations.

-2: Physiological interpretation: Will power, resilience and the ability to stand up to opposition are in danger of being overwhelmed by excessive stress.

Psychological interpretation: The tenacity ad strength of will necessary to contend with existing difficulties has become weakened. Feels overtaxed, worn out and getting nowhere, but continues to stand her ground. She feels this adverse situation as an actual tangible pressure which is intolerable to her and from which she wants to escape, but she feels unable to make the necessary decision.

-2-0: Physiological interpretation: The ability to withstand pressure has been overtaxed, leading to stress and frustration, impatience and irritability.
Psychological interpretation: Has lost the resilience and strength of will necessary to contend with existing difficulties. Feels overtaxed and getting nowhere, but continues to stand her ground and still pursues her objectives with a fierce intensity. This subjects her to intolerable pressure from which she wants to escape, but she cannot bring herself to make the necessary decision. As a result she remains firmly involved in the problem and can neither view it objectively nor get rid of it - she cannot leave it alone and feels she will only be at peace when she has reached her objective.

+4-0: The fear that she may be prevented from achieving the things she wants leads her into a restless search for satisfaction in the pursuit of illusory or meaningless activities.

Ha! Actually I own a paperback copy of the Color Test, so all I did was post what the results were. I see that you found it online, though.

There were quite a few online. :) I bet the book version is more accurate.

Oh, yeah. It's like night and day. You'll find it in the psychology section of the bookstore, if you're interested. Back in the 70s, my friends and I used to do the test as a party game. Not to be used with people you're not good friends with, though :)

I seem to remember it showing up in that Art Garfunkel movie, Bad Timing.

I'd like to read more about the principle behind the test. I mean, really, how much can you tell about a person just because they like purple (or whatever)? But maybe there's a great theory there; I don't know. ;)

Check out the book. There's loads of theory surrounding color choice. You're actually supposed to take the test twice, a few minutes apart, but I just did it once last night. And it was pretty spot on for all that.

This really fits for someone with a chronic illness. It wears you down, saps your resiliency, makes you feel trapped and helpless and unable to cope. It's not really who you are, it's who the illness causes you to be. I sympathize and empathize. I, too, have a chronic, debilitating illness, and these answers describe me very well. You are fortunate to be surrounded by people (and animals) that care and are supportive. Don't give in, don't give up. There is good in everything and every day. We just have to allow ourselves to see it. And I think you do. Good luck. Pip's mom

You got it right off the bat :) A test like this one really gets under the facade, doesn't it? Thank you very much for the support - it's always appreciated.

So how are you doing these days?

Like you, I have good days and bad days. Since it's 3:3o am when I'm writing this, I'll let you decide what kind of day this is. LOL Pip's mom

It's all right, really :) It was the end of a long day, and honestly - none of the possible results are light and fluffy. But thank you, my friend.
