The wind is so strong today that it's blowing the fascia off the side of the garage.

The gorge is much wilder than this in parts, but most of the access points are still covered in deep snow.

The colors are so muted in this that it looks like a painting to me.

The ice and snow on the driveway have melted, so the birds (evil Grackles!) are enjoying a spa day.

The crias say hello )

We've been having a series of sunny days, so we've been letting Willow (and Satine, her mom) out of their sheltered room so the baby can get used to the colder temperatures as well as give them both a chance to stretch their legs. As you can see, we still have a lot of snow, and the temperatures at night still get down to the teens(F) and -teens(C), so we bring them in towards the end of the day. I can barely wait until the temps moderate enough that we can leave them both out all the time. I know it's best for the baby, but it breaks my heart to have to lock Satine up every night. Cruel to be kind, I guess.

And Opie )

Deb is down in Florida for the week, so I've been taking care of her cats, Squirt and Opie (short of Phantom of the Opera). They're both former barn cats of hers who were injured, so they moved on to be house cats. As you can see, Squirt has only three legs, but the boy gets around amazingly well.

This sweet boy is the barn cat at the farm where our Satine and Willow are staying for a bit. His former owners declawed him - and then abandoned him out in the country. Our friends took him in.
