11 February 2010 13:53Little Echo died. Everyone thought she was going to make it, including the vets. Her heart rate was up, her temp was way up. They were getting the warm IV ready, and her heart just stopped. They tried compressions and two epi shots to the heart, but she was gone. Poor little girl. She was just five months old.
Thanks for the your good wishes, guys. We still have Satine's baby to see to. We were just over there while Dar milked Satine and then syringed the milk into the baby's mouth. She's so beautiful - and very tall. Because she's a premie, she's having difficulty with her legs, but she can stand and walk around if you help her up. She's bright-eyed and curious, and Satine is out of her mind with the urge to protect her. Which makes milking mom a bit of a problem.
So we still need lots of good wishes, if you have them. I'll let you know how things go.
