Our internet connection had been fubar from Saturday afternoon until, well, now. There were things I wanted to post about, and I will, but I have to get ready to head out for a physical rehab session. This should be fun since I spent a few hours yesterday late afternoon mowing all of the lawns, and last night and this morning I'm paying for it with very stiff and painful joints. I'm hoping that she'll give me some stretches or exercises to help ease the stiffness at least.
Anyway, you know how I collect pictures of animal statues, right? Well, this is my absolute favorite. I've known about it for years, and I finally got my act together to take a few pictures of it. I've seen a couple pieces of this carver's work in the outlying areas, but this is the only one that I know of in a Listowel neighborhood. I just love it.
( The lion and the mouse. )
Isn't it neat? It's about 8 feet tall and really out of place in the neighborhood, but I get a huge kick out of the owners just going with their bliss.

Zebra statue
24 June 2008 17:39I love this. It's a horse statue spray painted with white stripes - right down to the tail. This horse statue is seen all over the place in our area, so bravo to this home-owner for taking it one more step towards the bizarre.
