This is Delilah and her baby boy, Samson. These are the llamas that Dar wrote about in her LJ - the ones who led to all of that adventure. We went to check up on the baby last Sunday. As you can see, mom and baby are both doing very well.

Isn't he precious?



This is the proud daddy, name of Tooney. I'll post another picture of him where you can see that he's clearly a llama-alpaca hybrid - and he's a suri!


Delilah close up. She is very, very tall, and she towers over Tooney. It's a good thing llamas mate when they're cushed on the ground :)

I LOVE TOONEY'S FUZZY EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAARS!! OMG...what a cutie pie! Delilah and that white nose...she looks...odd...but cute, I guess. Llamas aren't nearly as cute as your alpacas...and that's a for-sure thing. Samson is pretty adorable, though.

And llamas and alpacas can cross breed? I didn't know that!

Oh, most baby animals are adorable :) Yup, the can cross breed, but it's not a good idea, mainly because no one really wants the offspring. This mating was a case of the owners being a bit clueless about camelids, but they love this baby and are hoping to let Delilah and Tooney mate again in spring.

So cute! And for some reason I kept thinking they were alpacas! Lol. I told my mom that whole story, as best as I could remember, and we laughed and laughed all the way to my doctor appointment the other day. Now she wants me to tell everyone at Thanksgiving tomorrow! Hee! I'm thinking I may need to print it out so I don't leave out any details! And maybe Dar should consider writing a book! :-D
