OK, so maybe not the snow

Of course after posting yesterday about the springlike conditions, we get thrown back into the freezer. Literally below freezing this morning and still damn cold this afternoon. So cold, in fact, that we have our propane fireplace blazing. I need to learn not to jinx things. I thought it was enough that I hadn't put away any of my winter gear . . . but no.

Lesson learned, Universe. Lesson learned.

I opened all the windows and turned off the heat yesterday. And then left a couple windows open overnight. Holy crap was that a mistake.

I don't accept 6 degrees as a valid daily high when it reached 17 here yesterday.

I know, right? The alpacas' water buckets had ice on them! And we had some windows in the kitchen open overnight, too. We got up to 7 today. Finally.

We had the same thing happen here; it's been near 80 degrees, then night before last we had an intense 5 minute thunder/lightening storm w/ hard rain. Yesterday was cold and nasty, last night we had to turn on the heater for the first time in months, and today is around 55 or so.

Mother Nature is SUCH a tease. ;)
