Strange days

Last week we were plagued by praying mantises. I counted six stuck to various parts of the front of the house, and that was without really trying to search them out. Today we've been laid siege by lady bugs. Hordes of them. It's all very strange.

Chloe lets me pick her up and cuddle with her now. She purrs and nestles into my arms, and no one is walking off with this kitty. Just so we're clear on that.

Today was sunny and warm; tomorrow promises more of the same but with even higher temperatures. Where did autumn go?

My brain has been completely kaput for most of the day. Very uncomfortable, that.

It was good to see the Winchester boys again.

Yeah, that's about it. Bed now. Happy Wednesday, guys.

Get this - - Canadian channels don't carry the new CI. Heartbroken! Seriously, I'm distraught. Dar's sick of hearing me wail about it. And it's all because it moved to the USA channel. Fuckers. Why didn't NBC keep it? It's the best of the franchise, imo.

Anyway, they changed the opening music? wtf? Has NBC kicked CI out of the franchise then? Anything else change? Oh, is Wheeler still played by the same woman? Because the promo shots show this woman with really long hair.

No, it's the same music, they just fucked it up. It's faster and really grating and maybe a bit discordant. I'm going to call it a cacophony, in fact, because I've got Lorne in my head right now.

And a lot of cleavage. They gave Logan yet another new partner. I wonder if they'll bother explaining it this time.

Well, clearly, the partying mantises were a lunch party that showed up and antenna-waggled "What the hell? Where are all the damn ladybugs."

And then the weather weirdness provokes the ladybugs. I've been expecting them on the patio.

I think the sheer number of lady bugs scared away the mantises. Or maybe they ate them. All I know is that the only place I've seen a mantis today is way the hell out back in the grass. Meanwhile the lady bugs have taken over the house exterior. Eek.

Wow! Praying mantises... manti? That is almost biblical.

I've experienced a ladybog seige before - it somehow seemed rather wonderful!!

Our lady bugs bite, so they're not so much with the wonderful. Little bastards. They're also driving the cats nuts because they (the bugs) are all over the windows, but they (the cats) can't get 'em.

As far as plagues go, at least this is better than boils, burning hail, and rivers of blood, so I really shouldn't complain :)
