Fucking sneaky dykes

Apparently Dar and I are not just part of but actual leaders of our very own Lesbian Conspiracy. ::throws labia shaped confettii:: Forget the cheap-ass toaster oven, we're after a fucking million dollar kitchen renovation!
Who's with us?!
ETA. Sorry to be so cryptic before; the meds were kicking in and coherence was trotting down the hall and out the door.
OK, so a friend of ours is in the middle of a messy separation that just got messier. One of the husband's friends for some reason has really taken a dislike to Dar (who he's met but he doesn't even have the brain cells to realize that) and has emailed her a few times to let her know that she's talking out of her ass whenever she chimes in with her opinion. The latest email was to say that she and I are engaged in a lesbian conspiracy to keep the couple apart. Bwah!
The last resort of the dickless wonders of the world. It's not that the husband is an abusive, manipulative asshole. Oh no. All of this can be laid at the feet of our insatiable lesbian desire to trick all straight women into the fold. And yes that's a pun :) Which Dickless Wonder #1 would totally not get.
God, it really brings back fond memories of my 20s, going out carousing with my girlfriends (who ran the gamut from 100% dyke to straight and happily married) and always always running into 1)"What are you girls doing out alone" which rapidly devolved into 2) "What are you, dykes?" when we told them to get lost. I say it's a fond memory because after 1 and 2 came 3 and that was us all shouting a joyful "Yes!" followed by a group make-out session that everyone jumped into. Then, of course, we'd be kicked out, but you know, there were plenty of other bars :)
My girlfriends were fucking awesome. Still are.

2007-10-04 11:51 (UTC)Nobody can get him the help he so desperately needs. Nobody but Frank himself. Certainly not the useless kid (who is clearly projecting the issues of his own mentally ill mother and the damage her illness did to his own family) emailing you. Frank needs serious, dedicated professional help. Only when he's made serious progress addressing his own mental health issues -- the need to control Holly's every thought and action, the abject cruelty he's subjected her to time and again, the verbal abuse and manipulation that's been the hallmark of their relationship for quite literally years, his misogny, his own depression, and the heart-breaking damage inflicted on him by his mother and father, only then can he begin to heal and become a whole person able to freely love another. Maybe then they can begin to form a relationship based on mutual trust and love. Maybe then, for the first time in his life, Frank will know happiness.
I hope that for him. Because he deserves that as much as anyone on God's green earth. And I believe (like I know you do), that it's possible, with hard work, to transform a life.
And I hope that for Holly. Then her decisions won't be based on fear and abuse and anguish.
It's a terrible situation, no doubt about it.

2007-10-04 13:32 (UTC)1) I have never sent an email to Dar, and don’t even know her email address
2) I do remember meeting her last year quite well. I thought we had a very nice visit early in the morning when we both couldn’t sleep.
3) I was mad at Dar yesterday for something she posted in my LJ, but do not now nor have ever thought she was part of any conspiracy to bring my wife over to any side.
4) I have given a reading at a marriage of a same sex couple (granted 2 men) so I would think that the fact I have no issues with same sex marriages would be fairly clear. (I’ve attended others as well, but have only been honored with being asked to give a reading at one.)
So, although I do have some worries that she may mean me, it doesn’t seem to fit the facts.
I am sorry to see other friends of my saying how fucked up they think I am. Especially given that they haven’t actually discussed any of how I think and feel with me and are going on second hand data. But, what can you do?
So, if it’s about me, then someone is telling outright lies about me, what I've done and said.
If it isn’t about me, I’m sorry you all think Frank when you hear “abusive, manipulative asshole”.

2007-10-04 13:38 (UTC)However there are legions of people who love both of you and some of them can take things a little personally. No surprise there. Let's just move on shall we? If you have any direct questions, email me.

2007-10-04 14:13 (UTC)I apologize on behalf of anyone who has taken it into their head to send any email on my behalf. Despite what I’m told about myself being an “abusive, manipulative asshole” anyone who knows me should know that if I have a problem with something I say so. (Go read my posts in my LJ if you doubt it.) I do not have other people speak for me.
I’d love to email you to get the specifics of the emails in question. But, as I said above, I don’t have Dar’s email address. Mine is frank@hunt.org if you want to send me the details of who has seen fit to try and speak for me.

And it's a fabulous one, too. :D
RE you and the girlfriends - been there, done that. The other thing we've done is set up "partners" before going out so that if some guy is harassing us, we can say we're with one of the others, complete with hand holding, etc. :D Usually it works and the guy wanders off. Only once have I had a guy ask if I "share." (THEN wander off when I said no)

2007-10-04 14:04 (UTC)Ha! Actually hat tip to that guy, because that's not the usual response :) No, we had one incident where the guys got so pissed that they threw a pitcher of beer at us. But that was back in the early 70s before guys became "enlightened". ::snerk::
