The last bale of hay we'd bought turned out to be bad. Not just damp on the interior but wet. And moldy. So I hauled out back to the fire barrel and burned it all up.



It was a general clean-up day for me around the place, and I admit to being tuckered. Pretty pleased at what I got accomplished but still tired.

In other news, Mark brought home a momma cat with four kittens. Ten cats, eight alpacas (soon to be ten), and now we're adding at least one llama (I want two: one for the guys' pen, one for the girls') and possibly a horse. I remember when I was overwhelmed at the thought of getting a cat. A cat.

I better get my goats. That's all I'm sayin'.

Come and get 'em :) Mark is keeping the mini-Holmes one, but there are three others: a tabby (with Pixel's tail), a grey, and a lovely tabby/tortie mixture. At least that's what they look like now. They don't even have their eyes open yet. Very, very cute.

You know you want one. Simon wants one. Maybe Elizabeth. Youuuuuuuuuuu.

Your lives have certain... challenges ... this is true. But you are also people who actually live. Not sure what I'm doing, really. You are kinda people I admire.

Well, thank you :) I just meant that our lives are so changeable that there's no way I'm going to plan on what'll be happening in 30 months.

So, you're getting a degree in AHT? Is that why the 30 month wait? What does being an AHT entail?

Well, my program starts July the 3rd and is 28 months in duration. My addition may be a little off (not my strong suit) but by then I will be a qualified animal nurse. :D I know Dar knows a lot of stuff, and doesn't really need and AHT, but it's just that your lives sound a lot more fun than mine right now.

I'll be happier (but more tired) as of July 3rd (when I take my Leave of Absence from the Hell known as Werk, and begin classes). I am scared of the physical requirements, but I know I will enjoy the work. I really don't know why I didn't realize all of this earlier in my life......

Being an AHT means I can work with critters - which means more to me than anything else I could possibly do in this world!

It smouldered like crazy until I started adding dried branches and such to start the flames going, then it just burned. But not before I got smothered in thick, heavy smoke, of course.

Let me introduce you to Mark; he'll take them all :) Just kidding! I love animals, but I think we're at our limit for the time being. How about handing them over to a no-kill shelter; that's where I picked up both of my guys when I was living in MA.
