Sunday night

We had half of the Torchicks here for a vist this weekend:
sffan and
liquidize came for too short a time, but at least we had them for a little while.
puffgirl_two and
dumbphilomel couldn't make it, and they were missed.
SF came loaded with DVDs for us to watch and some stuffed mice for the cats; Liq brought some Japanese pastries. (Japan does pastries. Who knew?) So I got to watch my first Eccleston Dr. Who episode ("Daleks"), and while I enjoyed him, Rose made me want to smack her. I've had that reaction to several of the companions, especially the females, and there were several who I actively hated. Rose isn't that bad, but there's just something about her that puts me off. Maybe it's her lipstick.
I also finally got to see Casino Royale to mixed results. I loved Daniel Craig; I thought he did a fantastic job. I really dislike those types of movies, though, so I was bored through much of it - hate chases, hate fights, detest torture. If they'd cut all of that crap out of it and left the scenes with actual dialogue I'd have loved it unreservedly.
Also got to see the last episode ever of SG-1. Man, they could have done so much better. I felt really let down.
I'm being awfully negative, aren't I? Well, just to prove that I'm not a total TV curmudgeon, Rome knocked my socks off tonight. I simply do not want to accept that next week is the last episode.
Eh. I have another sinus infection, and I think that's making me less than charitable about some things. I have good things to say, honest, but I'm just too tired to do it. I leave you instead with the big orange cat and the stuffed mice from SF.
