After the shearing

Our herd matriarch, Gertie the Great. She hadn't been sheared in two years, so she really needed it done this year.

Conchita doing her thing. This isn't typical alpaca fencing for this very reason: they lean against the fence and stretch it all out trying to get to the longer grass. Occasionally one will slip under the fence, and then we have the merry chase to get her back in. (This used to be a cow pasture.)

Not all of the suris got full cuts. Sandstorm just had his blanket cut back a little.

I believe this Haley sporting the typical huacaya cut. They look adorkable with their skinny
bodies and their fluffy top knots and legs.

Our little Gatsby looking like a werewolf. Or werealpaca. Suris generally get a choppy cut.

A better picture of how closely the huacayas are shorn.
