Speaking of cats, Morse has found himself a new home. Well, actually Mark found it for him with a friend of a coworker who promised pictures and periodic updates of their new addition. Mark said that Morse settled right in and his new family is appropriately adoring of the orange fuzzball they've adopted. That just leaves Jane and her mom to place. And I may have a home for Jane. Maybe. Our next door neighbor showed up at the door this afternoon kind of distraught because her cat was dying. The poor thing was 19 years old and just finally gave out, apparently. Carol, who is a nurse, was wondering if we had anything with which she could euthanize her old girl. (Really, that isn't as strange a request as it sounds.) I told her that we didn't have those kind of drugs around the house, but that the local vet hospital was very good when poor little Zoe had to be put to sleep. So I gave her the info and my sympathy, and I'm thinking that maybe in another week their daughter Allie might be wanting a little kitty in the house again. Or is that being ghoulish?
Dar and Mark were gone most of the day helping our friends finish up a Herd Health Day at their place. I stayed home, as I usually have to lately. I cleaned up around the place a little, but mostly it was just me and the cats hanging out and listening to the wind and the rain. This is getting pretty boring. Not that I don't love both the cats and listening to windy rain storms, mind you. But you get what I'm saying, I think.
I was doing some more research on my symptoms (my favorite pasttime these days) when it suddenly hit me that I have every single symptom there is for multiple sclerosis. I knew that it was a possibility, but I'd thought it was a remote possibility so I didn't really ever look into it; something the neurologist said made me think that I should and . . . damn. I just went down the list and yes, yes, yes, yes - every freaking symptom. The only thing that's stopping me from jumping out of my skin is that I have that anti-dsDNA antibody and that's not common for MS. So I just have to wait and see what the further testing shows.
In better news, Dar's friend Sean is still alive and still amazing the doctors. Now it looks as if he's not only just hanging in there but actually showing some improvement. I'm just in awe of his strength of will. The doctors haven't even sewn up his incision from his heart surgery; he's not only on all sorts of life support, he's been lying there with a gaping chest! He's incredible. As those of you who've met him will remember, he's just a slip of a guy, too. Absolutely amazing.
And I have an armful of Pixel :)
