Dar is in a lot of pain this evening. She apparently had an abscess deep in her jaw, and late this afternoon it burst. The woman deals with constant pain on a daily basis and no one ever knows about it; to hear her moaning with pain now is extraordinary and frightening and heartbreaking. She took a dose of my morphine and that helped to dull it; she's also started on antibiotics until she hears back from the dentist and can get in to see him. She's been having cold sweats and chills/hot flashes for a couple of months, and she figures now that those were part and parcel of this infection brewing in her bone. I'd been trying to get her to go to the doctor for a while now, but I doubt that they would have found this as the cause anyway. Now it's a matter of cleaning up the infection and controlling the pain. Good thoughts to her, please, guys.

It's been hot and humid, but we finally got some thunderstorms to drop some much-needed rain on our area.
