And the good news today is that not once did I have to dig my car out of a ditch or a snow bank. Go, me! It came close (no, really), but I managed to avoid two more instances of Car-B-Stuck. The first by shoveling the top part of the damn driveway when I saw that Mark barely got the Jeep out onto the road, and the second by noticing the very deep tire tracks in the lot at our friends' mill. I stopped just as the car was heading into the deep snow. Yay! I really, really hate winter.
Today the temps were above freezing for the first time in weeks. Like 5 or 6 weeks. It was glorious. I went out without a hat. I did chores around the barn. I got to hang with the alpacas. I shoveled. I got slapped down by an asthma flare-up as a consequence of those things. But I don't care, because I got to go outside and do stuff. Yay! And really, I'm on the mend with the asthma; I just can't do as much as I did today. Gotta ease back into things. Keep reminding me of that, OK?
I knew things were going to improve today when I went to check the mail and found the Valentine's Mix from
thewalnut. Crazy happiness ensued, especially since I was on my way out to run some errands and I could slap said CD into the player in my car as I rolled around the countryside avoiding ditches and snow banks. And it was good. Parts of it were even great. I haven't finished listening to it all, and I want to give all of them a closer listen, but right off the bat I can say that I'm all kinds of excited about Ane Brun. I've never heard her (or even of her), but I love what I've heard here. Hils can always be relied upon to introduce me to some new (to me) artists that I'll fall heavily for. Thank you, Hils!
Bed time is sneaking up on me here, so I'll end with a meme. Because why the hell not.
( But . . . I'm afraid of snakes! )
