That's supposed to be a scary moan there. Did it work? Are you scared?

Happy Halloween, y'all!

It was always my favorite holiday; I have many, many happy memories of cold nights, running children, laughter, and tons and tons of chocolate. Which my mother whittled down to mere pounds and pounds before we could dive into it.

Anyway, [livejournal.com profile] caerwynx had sent me this link in email, and it was so entertaining that I wanted to pass it along to the rest of you. (And here I admit that I'm hoping that I'm not stealing her thunder by doing so.) Neil Gaiman on Halloween.

And WTF?! Lj's clock is all screwed up, so I have to backdate this to post it.

I just read that Tim Minear got the OK for a spring debut of his new series Drive on Fox. Fox is looking to recast some of the parts already cast in the pilot episode. Fox is also looking for a new vehicle (pardon the pun) for Nathan Fillion.

Come on, Fox. It's a freakin' no brainer!

Which, of course, means that it's doomed.

I've been thinking that all day, which is kind of funny since it's late October. It's just that the weather has been so wintery that the sudden warmth and sunlight reminds me of spring. Yesterday we had blowing, biting snow and hurricane-force winds. Today? Mild and relatively calm for this area. Yay!

In no particular order:

1. I had my teeth cleaned today. I'd rather get a filling than have my teeth cleaned, but there you have it. Apparently I have quite the set of choppers, because [livejournal.com profile] darlong was saying that she heard the techs and the dentist exclaiming over how good my teeth were. Heh.

2. I heard from an old co-worker/ex-roommate today. [livejournal.com profile] caerwynx, do you remember Liz from the museum? It was her. She tracked me down online just on a whim; she was surprised to see that I was living in Canada, and I was surprised to see that she was living in New Zealand. I have someone I can go visit in NZ! Whooo!

3. We've decided that given the time of year and the fencing and whatnot, that we're over-reacting to the coyote threat. ([livejournal.com profile] darlong is sure that there are no wolves, so I'll go with that.) As I'd said, I felt terrible shutting the alpacas up last night, and tonight is supposed to be stellar (heh), so we left the barn door open and added . . . Christmas lights! We strung a couple strings of outdoor Christmas lights along the fence running beside the barn; it looks particularly festive, I must say. And the alpacas were all loving it from what we could see. I'll have to try to get some pictures.

Ok, I need to get some database work done. Ciao!
