I bring you greetings.
Still no internet at home. The tech guy won't be showing up until between 2 and 5,which means 4:55, of course. Being without the internet increases one's productivity if nothing else. Finished the editing on the AU story for
kelly_girl last night; now all I need is an internet connection at home so I can actually send it to her. ::waves to Kelly::
I'm heading out to CT this week. Probably Wednesday. Hopefully
darlong can go with me this time. I have to take care of some car stuff (registration and emmissions testing), and it's my brother's birthday next week, so I want to see him, too. Plus I was just checking my email and he'd sent me an email saying that his lovely Golden Retriever, Penny, has inoperable cancer. Poor girl. I want to see her, too. And
kulac and Robin. And yeah, it's time for a trip.
I'm still haunted by Into Thin Air.
Moved on to reading an end-of-the-world story called Lucifer's Hammer. Anyone ever read it? Came out in the 70s so the technology is pretty dated, but it's a good story and God knows I'm a sucker for those "civilization is so fucked!" stories. Did I ever read light comedies? You know, I don't believe I have. Discworld notwithstanding. And only one of those.
Anyway, the clock is ticking on my available time. Wanted to let you guys know that we're hoping to be back among the netizens this evening. Hope all is well.
cajoje, I'm thinking of you, my dear. I hope everything goes smoothly for you. Listen to your doctor! Recover quickly :)
