Valentino looking as handsome as ever. The boy is not camera shy.

The snow on one side of the paddock has melted enough for the moms and
the weanlings to plod through it and at least get a little closer to
the grass in the pasture. Little Samson (on the right) isn't sure he
really wants to do that yet.

Inside the tent where most of the boys are housed. That's Atlas by the gate that
separates the alpacas from where we store their hay and grain. They'll still stick
their heads through the slats to nibble on the hay, but there's not much we can do
about that at the moment.

I have one of those Rubbermaid tanks, like is in the boy's tent...LOVE IT. It's what I fill up in the barn in the wintertime, to dip water out of. I have a spiffy tank heater that fits through a hole in the side bottom...what a delicious answer for my Wintertime frozen hose problem!! Generally it gets warm enough every couple of weeks or so to fill it with the hose, then the hose goes into the basement to stay thawed out. Pain in the ass, but not as big a pain as carrying water out in jerrycans!

We have a pump inside the tent, but it's being hidden by Atlas's big, fluffy body. All the boys have heated buckets, but we still end up hauling water to four shelters - it's a real drag in the deep snow and/or ice. Or rain. Or pretty much any time. The girls have heated automatic waterers in their barn, so yay for that.

We have heated individual buckets, as well...they are a lifesaver! I look forward to taking them down for the warmer weather, though!

We thought, when we moved here, that we'd have a well dug for just the barn, but um...yeah...that kinda went by the wayside, along with other plans. Money is such a downer!
