Moving Sparky

I had a number of people ask me what I meant when I said that the alpacas were uncooperative in walking out to the garage to get sheared. I figured a few pictures would tell the tale better than I could. This is Spartacus, but it was the same routine with about six of the alpacas.

Sparky in the process of doing a face plant. Actually, he did
a somersault, but I didn't catch the whole thing.

Reuben tries to lift Sparky's butt while Frank tries to calm him,
and [livejournal.com profile] sparky77 laughs. Repeat this activity every few feet.

This is almost at the driveway and the entrance to the garage.
As you can see, most of the first team gave up and the
second team came in. Q is still hanging in there.
Notice the black toboggan. Earlier they had ended up putting
Satine in there and hauling her up to garage that way.

I shan't be sheared!

I wonder if, like recalcitrant dogs, a super-balance leash would help. It's a TTOUCH thing, and I've been using it on the pit-bull at school that I have to walk. Makes her into a "nice" dog. Basically, you loop the leash under the armpit of the leg on the side opposite you, and thread the end bit up through the collar, so you basically have two ends to use as handles, and you take the pressure off of the collar/neck area. Um, I think I'd have to send a picture.... Heh.

I say horse tranquilizers are the answer. ;)

One day I'll show you my branding pics, complete with de-balling of the calves. So gross.

And this is why I'm glad I can pick up the cat. Cause otherwise getting her into the car would be like this.

Ooooh! Hahaha, it has to be frustrating but it's also so funny. They're too cute to get mad at. He somersaulted?!

I feel like I'd end up just sitting down in the grass with him to have a little talk, which of course, would amount to nothing and I'd be tugging again. But those eyes look so receptive.
