March 1 snow storm

Please send spring.

*boggles* I'll try sending spring, but I think it's going to have trouble finding you...

We have some pretty impressive drifting going on. It's not like this everywhere on our property, but Mark had to fight his way in from the driveway.

Jeepers...

Have you got a flare gun?

[identity profile] maystone.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
We're saving it to burn our way through the snow once the storm passes :)

I wish I were there with you. We could watch movies, play board games, drink, eat whatever we scavenge from the depths of the storage, dig the path out to the alpacas, collapse with exhaustion...it would be great!

It would be great. Next major storm, we'll have to plan better :)

How are things in Toronto? We have high winds (hence all that drifting) and now it's ice. Mark figures he'll be snowbound tomorrow.

I am so very, very tired of this.

We got a fair bit of snow, for Toronto. Something like 5 or 10 cms and it blew around a lot, and we're going to get a 15mm of rain, most of it freezing, so the walk to the subway tomorrow is going to be just friggin' joyous. I HATE freezing rain. Pretty much on the same level that Dar hates lawyers.

That's a buttload o' hate :)

I have these nifty little ice gripper thingies that you can slip on over your shoes. Saved my butt (almost literally) many times over the years. I wish I could send them to you for your treacherous commute.

The wind is coming from just the right direction to make some spectacular drifts. Spectacular in the "Holy shit we're all gonna die!" sense.

Just don't end up like the Donner party.

[identity profile] maystone.livejournal.com 2007-03-02 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
You're not getting this in Boston, are you? Heh. You just snuggle in your bed and keep warm and hopefully pain free and don't give us snowbound Canuks another thought. No, sireee.

A bit of a change from the last time you saw the place, eh :)

Meep! Canada is scary.

[identity profile] maystone.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
Only in the winter, honey; only in the winter :)

My dog growing up would have dug a tunnel to the street. I hope you can escape!

[identity profile] maystone.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, the cats are absolutely useless at that :) The good news is that the storm brought ice and rain and the drifts have gone down substantially.

[identity profile] firedance5.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
That is sooooo cool! Think of the snow forts you can build and the snow tunnels, oh man how lucky are you, WOOT!

[identity profile] maystone.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
You are a real sick-o :) While we still have loads of snow out there, the rain has tamed it somewhat. No fort, no tunnels. WOOT!
