OK, maybe it's just that I have some weird virus that's making my head all wonky, but really - this was the worst episode so far. Choppy, poorly paced, not all that interesting - and just when did Charlie become such a huge dick anyway? There were lovely moments, e.g., anything having to do with Rose, but overall it felt like filler. There wasn't enough Hurley story to justify the amount of time given to it. Why not concentrate on the other castaways? Who are what now? Cannibals? (And how cool is it that Rose's husband turned out to be the CEO of a demonic law firm? VERY cool.) And where the fuck did Desmond disappear to? This is turning into Gilligan's Island, where people just seem to come and go on a whim. Bah.

All I can say is that they'd better start fleshing out all these little clues they've been dropping, because they're playing to an audience who've already been fucked over by the likes of David Lynch and Chris Carter. I want some meat on those bones you've been content to throw us, you hear me?

Ha! Of course, I totally loved this episode. We're pretty impressed aren't we.

It's good to know that there are some constants in the universe :)

I myself picked up a book and started reading it during "Lost" last night. Feh.

It's as if they couldn't be bothered to finish a thought. Nothing flowed. I was sorely disappointed, and I'm usually a Lost apologist.

I totally agree with you about lat night's Lost. It is just moving way too slowly. And my Charlie-hate just grows and grows. I'm dreading the Charlie-is-tempted-by-the-MaryHeroin-episode that you just know is coming. *shudder*

I do love that both Holland and Gavin are trapped on the island. Maybe if we wish really hard Lilah and Lindsey will show up too?!

I used to like Charlie, even back in his "I'm an addicted music whore" days; but what the hell was all that petulance and turning on Hurley about last night? Very forced, imo.

Heee! I would kill to have Lilah and Lindsey show up! Man, that would put a spin on both Jack and Sawyer that they'd never recover from. OK, maybe Sawyer could handle them; OK, maybe he could just handle Lindsey. But Lilah? She'd wipe the island with all of 'em :)

It was very forced. They have been on the island for two months or so, right? All of that "what's happened to you", "you've changed" crap just seemed so insane to me, not to mention forced and fake.

But Lilah? She'd wipe the island with all of 'em :)
And that would be awesome!

I also have a problem with the choppiness of this season's episodes. I think TPTB are so high from their first-season success that they want to prove how brilliant they are and they've got a million things they want to do this season, but they can't figure out how to pace themselves. And, of course, they can't let an episode go by without showing us thehatchTheHatchTHEHATCH! I preferred last season's approach where they centered an episode primarily around one character at a time, rather than this jumping back and forth.

That said, I loved this episode because it was about my sweet, darling Hurley! *sigh* I love him so. And I was actually thinking you'd like this episode because we got to see so much of Rose. I was afraid I wouldn't like her because in the beginning I thought she'd be one of those clichéd "wise elder" types that's never wrong. And she may well yet be, but I can't help but love her. I got a little verklempt when she put that Apollo bar away for Bernard. The couple-y scenes always get to me--not the "romance" crap, but the long-term couples. I was snivelling when Jin said goodbye to Sun at the end of last season.

Also, when I saw Bernard, I yelled, "Holland Manners! Holland and Gavin are together again!" And thank you for putting the idea of Lost!Lilah in my head. She would so rule that island. I wonder if there's any possibility of Stephanie Romanov getting at least a guest spot?

Dude. I am the dumb. I didn't even pick up on the Holland Manners thing. My brain is now blown.

Man, if Wolfram and Hart were behind the Dharma Initiative, I would just burst. ;)

They aren't going to flesh out shit. I'm siding with David Fury and his claim that the LOST folks have no master plan. I didn't find last night's as aggravating as you did, but the season on the whole is testing my patience. Where'd the monster go? If it's some kind of security system, as Danielle said, then why is is letting all these people just walk in and out of these multiple bunkers?

Also, they have NO story planned for Sayid, Shannon, Charlie, Claire, and Sun, and it's starting to show. And why were they trying to get through the walls again?
