Suris (see the icon) are bigger than huacayas and their faces are longer. They're more stand-offish, although they grow warmer over time as they get to know you. The biggest difference is in the fleece. Huacaya fleece is puffy; they look like teddy bears. Suri fleece is long and curly; they look like Rastafarians, and the fleece is even silkier than the huayaca.
The vast majority of alpacas are huacaya. Suris are only about 10% of the North American population.
